Has anyone had recent experiences using CarTrawler for airport transfers (this is booked through a link directly through the Emirates website).
We have used this service a couple of times in the past with no issues, but looking at recent reviews on Tripadvisor and trust pilot, the reviews are shocking, some even branding it a scam. Drivers don’t show up where they tell you to wait and it’s impossible to get a refund as you can’t contact them.
I had booked this for a relative last week for an airport transfer from Dubai T3 to hotel – the driver was nowhere to be seen despite the booking instructions saying driver would wait in front of Starbucks with passenger name on it.
Flight was only slightly delayed and they say they track the flight anyway.
In the end they had to make their own arrangements.
CarTrawler is a very big business which works with a lot of major airlines, hotel and travel groups to cross-sell car hire and transfers. There’s nothing wrong with the company per se, although obviously they only act as an intermediary.
