Hi everyone,
Due to the pandemic, BA have been offering lower thresholds to retain BA status on their various levels. I know that most recently, BA have lowered the silver threshold by 50%, which is 25 flights in the year. At the moment, this was extended to any “year” up to end of September. Annoyingly, mine ends 8th October. I have 23 flights on my silver status (including booked for Sept) and so I would need to go out of my way to get a return flight in in order to keep it. I had a travel ban with work until 1st April, but now I am booking quite a few in. Even more annoying when BA have cancelled a few of my flights and I have had to fly other airlines to compensate (grrrr!)
So my question is… Do you think it is likely that BA will extend the 50% for another quarter, or are they done? I dont particuarly want to spend a day off going somewhere on my own dollar just to keep a status that might not even happen anyway…. But as I usually fly so much, the benefits of silver far outweight it. Any thoughts or insider info??
