Forums Other Destination advice Family accommodation in Cologne

Hi, does anyone have any tips for booking a reasonably priced family room in Cologne please? It’s for 2 adults and 2 teenage kids (min 3 beds).

We’ve tried Airbnb, hotels.com, Trivago, booking.con and not finding much. Wondering if there’s maybe another site that Germans use?

    TIA

I used to use the Germanwings.de site for that and got some stunning bargains from time to time not just in Germany – it’s a skin of a major site (forgotten which) but sometimes with own better prices.

PremierInn is also in Germany now but not totally cheap however may work for family room in some hotels. There’s a French chain could be worth checking as good at budget end in France and I think they’re heading to Germany – B&B.

Also Tchibo.de used to do hotels families could drive to in their Holidays section – particularly good for few days or 1 week Sat to Sat depending time of year.

Cologne has excellent train connections if you stay outside – even as far as DUS or FRA is quite fast and frequent on the train.

Thanks LL, I’ll check out those options 😁

Are you trying to book for dates during the Euros? That could restrict availablity seriously.

I’ve found the Pullman Cologne (Accor) has some decent rates. Staying with my son for one of the matches. Not sure about family rooms but you could book 2 rooms next door to each other or interconnecting?

No, we’re looking at next February. We are considering 2 rooms as an alternative but that doesn’t seem to reduce the price.

I’ll take a look at the Pullman, thanks.

If it’s late February you could be hitting Karneval there.

Lindner City Plaza (Hyatt), connecting rooms.
