Planning a family weekend away, 6 adults and 3 kids for next Easter. Been looking at properties via Airbnb and Vrbo.
Am I missing any tricks regarding rewards or discounts?

Also any recommendations for properties in Scotland or northern England?

Not one for reward tricks/discounts as it’s an independent business, but for quality alone I highly recommend Guardswell Farm – beautiful, secluded location in Perthshire and the accommodation is lovely. They have a few different self-catering accommodation options (I’ve stayed in the “Kailyard” shepherd’s hut before, but it looks like the “Farmhouse”, which sleeps 10, would suit you): https://www.guardswell.co.uk/stay/hut/5/guardswell-farmhouse

There’s plenty of outdoorsy stuff to do on the farm but you are pretty much equidistant between Perth and Dundee and neither are far to drive if the weather’s rubbish and you want to go to the cinema, out for lunch/dinner etc. FYI Guardswell gets booked up very far in advance!

Depends on the age of the kids but we had a great weekend at Crieff Hydro a few years back. I was really impressed with the service, quality and price point. We were staying in a cabin some distance from the main hotel but they would send a minibus to get you down to the restaurants.

Also had a good stay at the highland club at the south end of Loch Ness. Activities are rather more spread out and the food in Fort Augustus was mediocre but excellent scenery.

A few years ago, I stayed at Netherbyres House in Eyemouth. It is predominantly a wedding venue, but we – 3 families – booked it on Airbnb. The new owners had just finished renovating it and it was lovely.
