Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points

Yep. My second ever diversion and also maybe miss one connection a year usually to to weather….
Anyway – have BA AU until 4/26 and AY until 3/27. If my travel schedule doesn’t change I’ll probably swap back to BA next year. Also realised I have LH Senator until 2/27 not 2/16 as I thought so aborted the swap to UA and booking those points to LG again.
Two lessons learned:
1) When rebooked due to a missed connection you seem to get the full F/J miles rather than the points for the orpginal booking class (at least for a BA flight being booked to AY)
2) With BA now being cash based you get the same miles/points on a reroute and have the opportunity for more point/miles if an extra sector is added – for example I got B6 (Jet Blue) miles for a BOS->TPA flight as well as the full miles/points for BA when I ended up going LGW->BOS->TPA instead of LGW->MCO
