Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club First Wing Terminal 5 opening time?

  • 238 posts

Due to check in for a ridiculously early flight leaving at 0650. T5. I’m assuming the First Wing check in and lounge will be open for a morsel of brekkie at 0430/0500?
It’s a group booking with a travel Co in economy, but as gold want to ease the pain!!

I think lounges open at 5AM, they certainly did last time I was at LHR so early circa Feb 20. Would assume FW security wouldn’t open until the lounge.

The lounges definitely only open at 5am. I think general check-in will be open before that time, no idea whether first wing is open before 5am as I’ve never used it but I assume it is available to check in before 5am. But it might be easier to do twilight check in and bag drop the night before (assuming you’re near LHR the night before)

Thanks all. Went to First Wing this evening which was deserted of pax, and we had a choice of CS agents! Evening Bag drop done. security and lounge open at 0500. I’m too old for these ridiculous early starts and avoid at most costs! Just unfortunate our flight had a time change

Very pleasant jaunt through T5 at 0515 this morning. FW was a doddle, efficient staff doing breakfast. Long wake up walk from Sofitel to FW and then to gate A1. Need to be fit to fly!!
Boarding was fine, plane 2/3 full , left on time and arrived a bit late battling very strong headwind. Luggage on the belt and waiting after yet another long walk to passport control and a check of Covid vacc status . If only all travel could be as smooth and trouble free (I’m touching wood!!

Have a lovely trip, Jill. Just remind me, do you have to go through security again if you stay overnight at the Sofitel? I’m assuming yes as presumably people will be checking in landside but it’s a few years since we stayed there now. Have booked it for our GCM trip at the end of the month due to having the 7 am MAN-LHR connection cancelled at 4 am the last time we flew this route!
