Hi – Nothing to do with the recent Air Traffic control issues but my flight was cancelled from Edinburgh to LHR the day before I was due to fly and the only option they gave me was the night (a day later), or ‘choose something else”. I tried to choose a flight for the same day that I was supposed to fly on, but there was no availability on any flight and the same for the following day. The only option I had was to accept the one for the following evening.
Do I have any compensation rights? I had to stay an extra night in Scotland and missed my day’s work in the shop so it really was inconvenient.

Too late now but you could have either asked them to put you on LNER train or you could have offered them the opportunity to reroute you on Easyjet if they had a same day option. They can’t so then you could have bought your own ticket and claimed it as a rerouting expense
You’re entitled to duty of care so any accommodation or food etc cost you incurred you can claim for too
