A 2 second google search would tell you they are mileage brokers BBB answer is the correct one, you don’t need an essay on what and why as a points collector you should already know mileage brokers can get you in a world of pain.

To dare is to do [Dear oh dear] I guess I was looking for an opinion or a friendly engagement about the subject. I accept you’re so smart and self important to bother with that. What a world we live in where everyone has to be the biggest guy in the room all the time. Sigh.

Any kind of loyalty currency ultimately belongs to the company which issues it, so there can never be a legitimate role for mileage brokers, surely?

I don’t think anybody was deliberately being hostile. It’s just a huge no-no from pretty much anyone who is into miles.

Here’s a recent article on it from OMAAT. It’s also worth clicking through to the links.

Think of the responses here as being similar to asking a friend if it’s okay to drink and drive. “No way!!!”

If you have a bunch of miles in an account with an airline you can’t ever see yourself using again then it’s probably low risk to sell them but never ever buy – you could get stranded.

    BBB gave you his opinion.

It was very concise I give you but IMHO it benefitted from that conciseness. I sometimes wish some respondents were equally concise in their postings on this site!

Your insulting response says more about you than BBB.

The risk of people having their FFP accounts closed is very real. Rob wrote an article about it recently. Flyer talk is littered with similar posts about people using sites like this brokerage one or by booking miles flights for people they have no relationship with and and then having their accounts closed and miles and status revoked.

Haha and this is why I didn’t bother giving you more of an answer when you replied to BBB, if you had bothered to read t&c of whatever scheme you collect with it would be stated quite clearly selling your miles is a big fat NO.As for being biggest guy in the room that’s really quite funny being as I’m a woman. Do you work for this company and your question was a way of sucking some idiot into selling their miles with you?

    No and no.

I used the term ‘guy’ colloquially as you well know. Have a good day.
