Hi,
Odd one this I think.
Have a flight next year. Row 1 is showing as available in MMB to BA Silver but won’t allow me to select it.
Row 2 is showing as greyed out in MMB
Both rows 1 & 2 are showing as “blocked” in Expert flyer.
Assume this is just flakey BA IT?
Thanks
This isn’t FLUB. Far too early for that to happen for a flight next year. It usually happens a few days before.
At the moment chose a seat in Club you are happy with.
What route is it? Two rows blocked off doesn’t sound like FLUBing. If it were, it’d be the whole First cabin, and it’d be only released on the day of departure.
It’s only an 8F cabin. LHR-GCM. As you say @georgek the usual situation would be for both rows to be greyed out in MMB as well as EF.
I don’t think GCM is a BA F route.
So at the moment if you are seeing an F Cabin it’s because they have allocated a plane with F to fly the route (but without seeling F)
BUT that plane type is very, very. very likely to change. Hence my advice to select CW seats you are happy with because once they sub a non F plane you’re going to get tossed back to CW.
Historically, the Saturday GCM flight had an F cabin, we were in it on our last trip in 2019. Son and I were allocated it a couple of days before departure and OH on a separate booking managed to get moved into it at bag drop. It proved to me once and for all that it’s not worth paying to reserve CW seats!
It was the longest time in an F cabin ever – the flight touches down in Nassau but while we were waiting to take off again a private jet crash landed on the runway so we were delayed a further 2 hours, taking the total time on board to 15 hours!
@TherealSwissTony – where are you staying (and when)? We should hopefully be there is just over 2 weeks but also booked for next Easter as well. Hoping to finally get to the kimpton!
We’re not staying a week, but curiously both flights show the same in MMB. Row 1 avail, row 2 blocked, then J starts at row 5.
Will probably stay at Rum Point rather than on 7 mile (no) beach.
Rum Point looks rather nice at the moment with all the facilities closed and no cruise trippers! The Americans are all moaning that there are no beach chairs but I’m looking forward to driving up there with a chiller and a picnic rug. Great spot to watch the sunset.
I have everything crossed they will drop the testing before the end of the month but I am not at all hopeful!
