Hi all,
the other day I priced up a flight in Economy Delight to SFO and it showed I would earn 600 Virgin Points for the trip. Does this seem low to anyone? I’m sure it used to be around 10,000/15,000 points depending on ticket (assuming Economy-D/Premium). Additionally, the Flying Club earning calculator page seems to be broken.
Are VA having IT issues with their points at the moment?
LHR-SFO-LHR in the lowest bucket on VS equipment and with only Red status on a non-flexible ticket should earn you ‘up to’ 16,086 VS Points in Economy Delight. I don’t know where the 6000 figure is coming from – I agree that sounds low.
I say ‘up to’ because that’s what VS say, however my experience is you earn that – it’s not an ‘up to’. I imagine it is included to be a catch-all with regards commercial agreements etc.
And it wasn’t even 6,000, it was 600. Not sure what’s going on.
Yes, sorry. 600 is definitely wrong.
Does the tool still not work for you (e.g. at all or give you the 600 figure)?
The other way to do this is to find some tickets and share the fare codes and your VS status. We can maybe then work out what you’re entitled to.
The tool doesn’t work for me at all. I put in some destinations and then it defaults to ATL as my destination in Premium but won’t show anything.
I just did a sample booking in Economy-D.
LHR-SFO (VS19) 15th November
SFO-LHR (VS20) 21st November
Both fare classes are V.
“As a Flying Club member you could earn
600 virgin points”.
Are you seeing this too? Doesn’t matter what dates I pick to any destination. Sometimes the points value is different but I assume there’s a base points amount and maybe the website can’t seem to find the actual mileage?
Just bumping this up as I’d love to see if other people are seeing a very reduced number of points being shown in the potential earning field on the booking pages?
