    Morning All,
Flying Monday ABZ – LHR – MIA, Avios + 2for1, Want to change first leg to Sunday.
Given current situation re flight chaos I have not tried BA via the phone as I appreciate others have more pressing issues. I have tried Twitter but as expected I am understandably a low priority.
Currently 7 Avios seats are available on the last flight Sunday evening ABZ – LHR and I have booked the Sofitel at Terminal 5 (which is cancellable up to Sunday 14:00.
    Questions are:-
1 – Do I leave phoning/Twitter until Friday and hope I get through?
2 – Do I book separate one way ABZ – LHR flights for Sunday evening. It is 8,500 Avios, a 2for1 voucher and £50. Probably like many others I have a surplus of 2for1 and Avios at the moment anyway, so it is not an issue.
3 – If I proceed with (2) above, can the check-in staff on the Sunday evening link the additional flight to the original booking which is ABZ – LHR – Mia on the 7 March, returning same route on the 28 March? I am concerned BA will say as I have not taken the original Monday morning flight I am not entitled to the remaining three flights.
Sorry if the above is long winded, but I wanted to put all the details (I hope).
In anticipation, thanks for your help.

    Morning,

The only part I can help with not to rely on Twitter and BA. I had an urgent issue last week and still no reply.

I am out to MIA on Saturday (hopefully). I hope you can sort all you need to.

    Cheers

Is there a permanent BA desk at ABZ? If so and you aren’t too far away maybe go there in person to get adjusted?

I’m sure i read on here someone did similar for a flight from Manchester

Don’t book yourself – if you aren’t on the firstflight then your ticket will be cancelled

I usually get through calling Singapore before 8am in the morning via Skype so you could try that tomorrow morning

Thanks MattB and SamG for your replies.
MattB – To my knowledge it is only check in desks. tried phoning ABZ but it tells me to phone BA…….. I will take a drive down as it is only 13 miles away.
SamG – Thanks for confirming situation. If I can’t sort out at the airport today. I will try the Singapore number.
    Once again, many thanks.

The airport almost certainly won’t be able to help with Avios ticket more than 24hrs before departure

    Thanks SamG
I also posted on Flyertalk and advice there was aligned with you i.e. airport unable to help due to AVIOS booking.
I am currently waiting in the phone queue (45 mins). It also took an additional 15 mins to get into the queue. Fingers crossed I don’t get cut off.
Also Twitter has been no use. No response yet from 7:31 tweet.
    Will post outcome.
    Cheers
