I am buying a LHR -> NRT flight with Qatar Airways using ba.com for Avios.
I noticed that I don’t have the option to pay fewer Avios and more money, like I do with British Airways and Iberia. Is there any way to go around it? Does any OneWorld Avios partner offer this option for Qatar?

This is a full avios reward not a part pay with avios cash flight. Boosting is therefore irrelavent.
His point is still valid though (I think) – whatever extra cash you’d rather spend is likely better off going on boosted Avios and still paying the full amount

I did exactly this at the weekend. Out of Avios so bought what I needed using Avios boost, then completed the transaction for 2 x QR flights.
But I cannot boost Avios for a reward flight, right? I would have to get a cash flight and then boost.
Indirect cash flights to Tokyo with Qatar are way more expensive than direct ones with BA, so there’s little point in doing this.
