Discuss today's stories:
I saw this article back in March about using your frequent flyer status from one airline while crediting the flights to another.
In my case, I’m Royal Jordanian Gold and used that number when I booked the flights. But I’d like to credit the flights to Qatar Airways, where I’m Silver and close to reaching Gold. The flights are already booked and I’ve chosen my seats using the RJ number. I assume I can still use the lounge by showing my RJ card and boarding pass. Any priority boarding/fast track I assume will be more difficult, but i’m prepared to lose those.
What I want to know is how to now change the frequent flyer number on the booking so the flights go to Qatar instead.
The article says this works with Royal Air Maroc and SriLankan, but I haven’t been able to change mine. Has anyone had any recent success with this?
Thanks
Self-management of this no longer possible. I sent BA a DM on X/Twitter yesterday to change my FFN for a BA flight in August that had my BAC FFN in to my RJ FFN. That would be the best option at the moment e.g. for selecting seats. Not sure who you’d DM for the change you want to do though – what airline are you flying?
I would also keep an eye on the booking e.g. if your seat is changed and your RJ GS has ended (if you gained through the status match last August) you won’t necessarily be able to move it back.
As for showing the card for the RJ GS benefits, back before the changes and I was crediting to BAEC, I got into the lounge at LGW ok, but was told that they’d let me through fast-track that time but were firm that the RJ FFN had to be on my boarding pass to use it in the future.
interesting, thanks.
Have a few flights coming up with BA, Iberia, American, but mainly BA.
Tickets booked through corporate agent so I might try and see if they can amend for me.
Although not convinced of their ability to book the right flight, never mind change the right ones in the booking.
