According to the T&Cs and live chat, spending in foreign currencies doesn’t contribute towards the 5k spend required to trigger an additoinal 2.5k points. While this seems clear, I just wanted to double check if anyone else has experienced this in practice? If you’ve received an additional 2.5k points, did it only come from GBP spending?
The T&Cs don’t say foreign currency spend is excluded from the £5k bonuses, but the FX fees themselves don’t count towards the bonus. You definitely get 2MR for spend in foreign currencies (and 3MR total for airline spend in foreign currency) plus the 2,500 MR for each £5k spend up to max £25k spend.
Can confirm that foreign currency spending is included in the £5k bonuses. Already make the most out of it through company expenses.

Interesting, the FX fees I get, but the T&Cs, and what live chat told me, made it sound like foreign currency spend itself is excluded.
From T&Cs: “The following charges are not valid charges for the purpose of calculating your spend accrual towards this bonus in a given year: interest, fees (including default fees), balance transfers, cash advances (including transactions treated as cash), loading of pre-paid Cards, American Express Travellers Cheque purchases or foreign exchange transactions; and any amounts that are subsequently re-credited to your Card Account by way of refunds.”
From live chat: “It is all the foreign transactions made on the card.”

I take anything they say with a pinch of salt.@pelicanicecoffeeolaf – what, from the context, I believe those terms are referring to is the purchase of foreign currency notes.
