Not sure the best place to put this thread but does anyone do travel hacking/tricking/fuel dumping?

Oh God, will we see annoying references to ‘orange juice’ and other code words that’ll make Bendy Beardy Seagulls seem mild?
Fuel Dumping? Yes.
I was a few gallons short of another amount of Tiger Tokens for a 14″ portable TV, so accidentally spilled some down the side of the van a few times.I’d be delighted to do some fuel dumping, yet to find a flight that help me do so though… if you find anything, feel free to post it here, at least some of us would be please to hear your news (and for now, this isn’t FT, and so a million people won’t immediately jump on it…)
There is already a thread dedicated to fuel dumping on FT where I am relatively active under the same username. I have been doing FD for almost 10 years, but I don’t know any FDers from the UK so it would be nice to see some action here.
Most of my flights are simple HBO returns to the EU on BA or those super promo business fares like £1000 to Asia on LH/LX, £750 from random European city to random Asian city etc. I don’t think these are really combinable with anything else and they sell out fast. Also we want to avoid OTAs in the current environment.
I’m happy with what I’ve found using straightforward tricks like ex-EU starting points, but if anyone wants to share other hacks I’m all ears.

Maybe you would be better to stick to this activity on FT? This is a respectable site and we really don’t need to be polluted with a thread that requires code words to cover up its dubious nature. The last code wording/grifting action on here didn’t end well.

No need to panic JDB, nothing dubious here, it’s simply trying to avoid fuel surcharges, book two singles instead of a return, book an open jaw to a neighbouring city, that type of thing.

What you mention is of course entirely innocent, helpful and widely discussed on HfP, but if you look at the FT thread it is completely different, goes into very grey areas, and there is a reason why they use code words and have a moderator who deletes uncoded posts. I am fully familiar this ‘scene’ having worked as a travel agent in 1981 when local offices / station managers of BA and other airlines positively encouraged it to boost their bonuses. Manual tickets and a smart red pencil saved people a lot of money.
@SteveJ – I should also have mentioned that if someone wants to get into the serious ‘fuel dumping’ you really, really need to know what you are doing; it’s not for the faint hearted and many amateurs do get denied boarding. On HfP there are many super experienced travellers, but also a huge community of inexperienced ones to judge by the remarkably basic questions.

What an absurd accusation. There’s nothing grey or dubious about FD and the coding is for perfectly obvious reasons.
If you don’t want to participate in this thread that’s fine but to claim it’s “un respectable pollution” and to speak for others is frankly ignorant and rude.
Does anyone really have enough time to learn all the terminology that FT use? I took one look and it makes the whole Bendy Beardy and Che look like armatures.
Easy solution: Find yourself a friend with a BA Hotline account and sign up to simply flying, much easier and saves a lot of time. Yes probably not as as cheap as you can get but who cares
Well you don’t need to even follow the FT thread. You mainly just need to learn what 3X is and do a little experimentation on your own. Lots of the coded stuff wouldn’t be any use to you.
Unfortunately over the years, multiple x3 deals have disappeared, only a handful of them left that cut 100% YQ.
And the ones that work are??
I’ve been aware of what a 3X and 1X are for a number of years, but never really seen anything workable in practice. I’ve had a go at decoding the FT threads but given I’m hopeless at a cryptic crosswords, realistically have no chance there! If people do want to share a couple of ‘starter for tens’ then would be most grateful.
I’ve flown FDs so they are definitely workable options.
However I have no idea what’s currently working. Again my best suggestion would be to just get on ITA and try some 3X out.
Ive been trying to work out how to look for this sort of thing but is it literally just a matter of sticking in flights with either an extra flight before or after (or in the middle of!) and seeing if the price drops?
Basically, but there’s some key things you need to look for as well. Helps if you have Expertflyer to check fare rules. Essentially what you need is a fare that has “end-on-end” ticketing permitted. Basically that means you can combine multiple fare components within the same PNR, which is what FD does either as a 1X or a 3X.
Years ago I used to know quite a few and had them working but not sure if any still work. Usually it was 3X flights in middle east like BAH-DOH or Caribbean islands that worked best
