    Realised that I posted in wrong place. oops. So posted again here.

    In the depths of Covid I had a BA cancelled 241 booking converted to a Future Travel voucher valid until September 2023. Some months ago was mention here that Future Travel Voucher are being converted to eTravel Vouchers and any payment held refunded. I have waited but never received the email from BA, tried to call BA a couple of times but as not a priority call been cut off. Given the difficulty in calling BA I would prefer an etravel voucher.
    Anyone still waiting for a conversion or any experience getting BA to convert.

    BA said they were fully refunding all these vouchers (avios plus cash), so double check your BAEC account transactions and whichever card you used to pay the surcharges. 241s came back with the validity date extended to Sep 23.

    Thanks Northern Lass. Yeap I have checked and nothing back, hence why I was interested to see if anyone else had not yet been refunded (cash & Avios) and had 241 extended.

    There may be some confusion here about what is available. You will either hang on to the FTV you already have or it will be refunded – there is no e-travel voucher. Some people, but not all, got refunds AND had the 241 extended to Sep 23 – that would seem the easiest and least call-centre-centric option.

    The danger now, is that a full refund ‘may’ mean you lose the 241 voucher – indeed there has been a big warning on the voucher application form for some time which warns that your 241 will be returned with its original expiry date which is probably now in the past.

    If you intend to travel it is probably best left in the FTV – but you will have to call up to re-use the FTV. If you don’t, or you want to be able to do everything online, you might be better with a refund, with the risk that you lose the 241 voucher. But you can’t make it happen either way – they will refund if and when they see fit!

    My understanding was that everyone would see a FTV converted, with extension intact and a refund.

    Unless anyone advises otherwise your advice to leave as a FTV is probably safest, but a pain to redeem via BA’s dreaded phone waits.

    My case set out just after yours on the 15 august sounds similar to mine. I converted a FTV to a booking on the phone and this was confirmed by BA, but fatally not under an E booking which you should ensure

    My BA Holidays FTV has not yet been refunded. I have tried several times to refund it against avios bookings but it goes to the same CSA every time and she refuses. Complained that others have been able to do this, that they will not take calls to book, and scope for bookings has been restricted by suspensions and cancellations- she just ignores every complaint : D

    Follow up to maybe help others with a FTV, particular with a 241 attached.

    I eventually got through to BA to only be told that the Avios team cannot deal with FTV’s as this is a ‘commercial booking’ and I can select any flight regardless of Avios availability. Mmmh, I queered this twice but the agent (UK based was confident that this was correct) and to call BA again using option 1, ,1 & then 2.

    When I eventually got through using these options (overseas call centre, helpful, but not knowledgeable) was told yes correct place to deal with a FTV but no, only Avios availability could secure a booking.
    I was then told they could not book a flight but they had to refund the Cash & Avios and the 241 attached would presumably expire. Thanks to 1005dyer I knew this to be incorrect and pushed back, after two times on hold for 10 minutes each time, whilst the agent spoke to a supervisor (presumably in the UK) was then eventually confirmed that the 241 could be used and they could make the booking.

    The booking process was painful as the agent whilst trying hard, had to continually refer to his supervisor to check how to process. 70 minutes later all sorted, Phhheew.
