I have a friend travelling to POS in January (31st). Seat selection is showing CS on a 777. Is this a sign of things to come or is it just a one off?
My guess is a one off to cover maintenace outage.
There seems to always be one at Gatwick. From what I’ve observed where it goes is quite fluid but often to Doha/Tampa/JFK in summer at least. I suspect it goes out on routes that are either busy in CW to take advantage of the demand or quieter in WT as it has a lot less WT seats.
I noticed it went out of Las Vegas on Sunday nearly full in CW so they’d taken advantage and sold most of the extra 16 CW seats it has vs a LGW config bird
Since this is 5 months away I think some expectation management may be in order.
The plane type could switch several times between then and now.
If your friend gets CS on the day then that’s definitely a bonus!
