Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Gaucho, Avios and Amex rebate

People might be wise to this but I had a meal at gaucho on Monday. Had my Plat Amex linked to the ba e-store.

£200 bill, got £20 rebate on Amex and 2,000 avois. All credited in 5 days, which is 1) great and 2) a tidy kick back.

Imagine if it was a business expense…

You can save your card details in your BA estore profile. I don’t because it only takes a few minutes to enter the card details.

I think the link being referenced is different – it’s the one whereby you get Avios from the eStore for shopping at certain retailers/restaurants in store if your card is registered with the eStore for that specific purpose.

It’s one of those sign up and forget things and a nice surprise when a bunch of extra Avios turn up unexpectedly.

    Wow 10 Avios per £.

Yes, there’s an odd bunch of retailers on there, but I can convince myself that the two offers stacking equates to a 20-25% discount.

Note the Gaucho offer is maximum 5,000 points in case anyone is thinking about booking an office Christmas party for 100 guests ☹️

@JDB I was referring to the BA Rewards App where you can link a number of credit cards and debit cards. Then when you use the linked card to spend in store or online you get Avios. It’s part of the BA eStore but accessed via the app

We actually returned home from Gaucho in profit. Spent £154. So, got the £150 plat restaurant credit, £15 back on the 10% restaurant rebate offer plus 1540 avios!
It was the O2 though so we did pay £5 for parking but still!

For those on a tighter budget than Gaucho, I found a little burger place in Camden Town called Band of Burgers where you get 20 Avios per £.
