Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Gold status deception?

  • 1 post

So back in October 2024 I lost my Gold status and dropped to Silver. Since then I have had regular flights from the UK to Boston, USA and back. Looking at my account last Friday I needed 85 Tier points to attain gold again. I then flew the following day on Saturday and have today been awarded 90 Tier points for that flight.
However, I have not achieved Gold and it now states I need another 895 points!!!!
My Tier points collection year expires 31st March 25 and my card expiry is 31st October 25.
Does anybody know as to why this would be?
Looking at my activity there has been no Tier Point corrections.
I’m aware of the coming changes in April but am confused as to why this has happened now?

The way the carry-over rules go is this.

Around 30th October, BA will have added back all the TP you earned between 1st April and 8th October last year. Add to that what you earn between 9th October and 31st March 2025. If you get to 1500 you keep Gold to 30th April 2026. If not, you drop in October 2025.

Patience is a virtue her wonders to behold.

This is how the system works and has done so for years and isn’t any sort of deception. It would have happened when you last became gold.

You need to wait another couple of days for the status to actually update.
