Forums Payment cards American Express Google Store rebate offer

  • 3 posts

    Morning,

I bought a new phone yesterday (Thanks to HUKD offer giving 30% off) and used my £100 off a £550 spend on my plat at Google Store.

The confirmation email has come from Amex. However part of this deal was an enhanced trade in value for my old phone. When this trade in value is returned to me it will take me below £550 spend.

Looking at the T&Cs of the rebate it is offered by PCS Wireless on behalf of Google. However it says you will receive credit from google on our behalf.

Has anyone used this offer and also had a trade in? Did the trade in trigger a refund of the offer or was it from a separate account?

I was thinking of trying to get the rebate onto a different card but the T&Cs say it is either original card or a Google Store credit.

I bought the phone on a good deal on it’s own so them taking the £100 back isn’t the end of the world. Also I could buy some more stuff from the store to take me above £550 after the rebate but I would rather not if I didn’t have to.

    Thanks
    James

A quick update to my own thread.

Trade in value was paid back to my account on December 4th from same retailer Google*Google Store London as my purchase.

There has been no reclaim yet of the £100 credit.
