Forums Hotel loyalty schemes Marriott Bonvoy Grosvenor House Dubai – breakfast / lounge access question

  • 118 posts

Hi all, I’ve stayed at Grosvenor House (Luxury Collection) in Dubai before but booked through a travel agent, and received breakfast through that.

Grosvenor House has a lounge which serves breakfast. I’m unsure what the access rules are for the lounge however.

I remember staying at a Luxury Collection property a few years ago that had a lounge, and they had changed the access rules so that you could only access the lounge if you selected it as your welcome amenity. This was at The Keraton in Jakarta. The problem there was that the lounge didn’t open for breakfast!

What I’m trying to establish is if I’ll be able to have breakfast in the main restaurant, plus have access to the lounge, or will I have to select one or the other as my welcome amenity?

I wish Marriott would simplify this stuff!!

Assuming you have Platinum or Titanium status.

Luxury Collection hotels don’t usually have lounges and the programme doesn’t require them to give elites access which is why it’s not standardised for them.

They can choose to give it, give it as welcome gift or not at all.

I had Platinum on my last stay and was given access to both breakfast in Sloanes and the lounge and it’s been same for a few years.

No shorts allowed during evening service.

The property is good at getting back to you if you email the concierge.

Hey thanks for the reply. Yes, I should have said that! I’ve got Ambassador status.

Great! Fingers crossed then. I enjoyed breakfast in Sloanes on my last trip there, the excellent was selection, and the lounge at lunch and dinner was very good!

Despite always being housed in the tower with the club lounge, I always walk across to the other tower for breakfast at Sloanes. The lounge buffet is too limited and service takes ages.

Breakfast at Sloane’s was amazing, especially taken on the outside terrace overlooking the marina in the glorious December sunshine!

    Exactly the same.

I’ve had stayed twice at GH, and in 14 nights I have only ever had breakfast in the lounge once.
Friday nights at Sloanes is absolutely fantastic also.

As TG said though, they are very good at responding if you have any queries.
