I have read the excellent article at https://www.headforpoints.com/2024/02/01/what-is-a-british-airways-gold-upgrade-for-two-for-one-voucher-3/
This states that any revenue fair in Club World can be upgraded to First provided that there is availability for either rewards flights or in A.
If I try a sample booking through the website by clicking through on “redeem” then “Use Gold Upgrade and Cash” I am seeing no availability despite there being availability in A according to expert flyer.
An example of this is BA53 on 10/2/26 which shows F8 A3 but a search for two one way tickets on that date has no availability. If this just a website issue and phoning would allow booking?
You need to call BA…..unfortunately the website only looks for reward availability when you try and use a GUF, but if you call, the agents should be able to book you into any available A class. You can phone the You First line to book this, they are generally well versed in GUFs to First Class.
