Forums Hotel loyalty schemes IHG One Rewards Has anyone transferred an IHG reservation to another IHG member?

I am trying to transfer one of my IHG reservations at an intercontinental as my husband and I both have diamond ambassador. We have multiple reservations on the one account but ideally I’d like to transfer one to the other so we can at least be guaranteed two room upgrades and breakfasts. Has anyone done this and knows the best way to? I tried the central IHG line who said she couldn’t but I don’t know it’s it a hang up and call again thing or it’s just not doable now. Any insights much appreciated!

I think you would have to cancel one of the reservations and rebook, hopefully prices haven’t gone up in the meantime!

No the hotel is fully booked now! And when available, the prices had doubled. So want to avoid that anyway but currently not even an option

You could try the hotel directly but they are even less helpful than IHG IME. Which one is it, just out of interest?

You could try calling the hotel as they are the ones who own the booking.

But be prepared for a “no”

Just fyi. Called central and spoke to an ambassador manager. She has put on the bookings details my husbands name as an additional guest and has created a case reference incase any issues at checkin, to give the front desk the case ref. She says she has put in the case notes that as 2 diamond AMD are staying and there are multiple rooms, for 2 of the rooms to receive the benefits… we shall see and I will update anyone who’s interested if it works when the Easter hols are upon us! Thanks everyone x

Hotel itself point blank refused previously which is why we wanted to get a booking out into hubby’s name. Service seemed unpleasant but sometimes it’s language barriers etc. Won’t name the hotel incase they come good in the end as don’t want to publicly badmouth incase when we arrive it’s all great!!
