Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club Heathrow to New York – First Options

  • 7 posts

Hi all, looking to book First Class flight to NYC. There are a couple of options, AA or BA as the carrier and JFK or Newark as the airport. is there anything in particular good or bad about any of those options or should I just go for the most conventional flight times? thanks in advance, Matt

The F cabin on AA long haul is colloquially known as employee class, as it’s filled with staff on free tickets. Comments about the negative impact this has on service are plentiful, but having never flown AA F TATL I can’t comment further.

JFK has (significantly) better lounges than Newark for the return leg, with both BA and AA using the same facilities.

If time isn’t an issue, I would recommend the daytime flight back to the UK.

Part of the consideration is where you are going when you get there and ease of access to JFK vs EWR. The lounge in EWR is OK and better than many, but as noted not in the same league as the JFK offering.

AA don’t have First on their daytime JFK – LHR flight, BA do but it does require a pretty early start.
