Help getting my head around options

Hello Been reading and following the forum for months and just can’t get my head around it

I will have circa 100k points and companion voucher in December

Most flights are available 355 days before so doubt l get anything in Dec but if i wanted, which of the following would be best just of points for 2ads+1yp+2ch

February half term 11-20 feb
Egypt or dubai (is dhaka an option)

April half term 3-20apr
egypt dubai

August half term 1-30aug
Bangkok

If i have to book a year in advance, how long will i have before points expire.

Really appreciate any advice, i just seem to be confused. Thank you

You don’t really need to worry about avios expiring as long as you earn or spend some (IIRC) every 3 years. If you’re spending monthly on a BA card you’ll be fine.

Availability in school holidays can be tricky – what can be very helpful is getting a subscription to SeatSpy so you can see at a glance which destinations are likely to be viable for your travel dates.

Also 100k avios isn’t a huge amount and won’t get you far on a long-haul route like DXB or BKK, even in economy – are you planning to book award seats with some of your family on cash tickets? Can’t remember how they charge Egypt off the top of my head.
