Help with calculating status!

If anyone can be bothered working this out for me, I’ll be eternally grateful and buy you a drink when I finally make it to a HFP party!

I am currently Blue and my tier point year ends on July 8th. I have a trip spanning this date which might get me most of the way to Bronze but I’m not totally clear what will count. My itinerary is:

June 30th LHR-GCM in CW. July 18th GCM-LHR in Cw. July 19th LHR-MAN in CE. (Couldn’t get the MAN-LHR leg to show for the departure time I needed on BA holidays so booked a separate avios ticket) No extra tier points for the holiday booking.

I am thinking only the tier point and the 2 return flights will count for next year’s status qualification because of the travel dates.

Hi Anna

Unfortunately your outbound flights count to this year. Unless you already have 85TP that won’t help you.

Your return flights in July will give you a total of 180TP so you will be 45TP short based on the reduced thresholds. GCM – LHR 140 + LHR – MAN 40

Edit note not a BAH eligible booking so this bit wont apply: Unless you have a BAH booking and can get double TP?

Thanks, @AJA, that’s really helpful! As the return flights are at the start of my collection year, I will then have the rest of the collection year to get the extra tier points, I assume? I’ll need 2 more BA flights as well, but as we mostly connect from MAN, that’s fairly easy to achieve.

Hi Anna if you get those 45TP before 31 December you can take advantage of the reduced thresholds. You will not need any more flights for bronze but another two flights and 270TP by 31 Dec 2022 will get you to silver.

From 1 Jan 2023 you will need 300TP for bronze and 600TP for Silver ie another 120TP for bronze and 420TP and 2 extra flights for Silver
