Hertz President’s Circle – UC only available on second rental?

I have status matched across to Hertz. I did a rental with them about 5 years ago (on a different account number) – otherwise I have not used them.

I would like to use their ultimate choice aisle for an upcoming rental. It will save me about £300 because I can just book a midsize and then drive anything in the President’s Circle area.

There are a few old Reddit posts that say they have an ‘internal policy’ that the UC for PC is only available on a second rental. For the first rental you get demoted to the Five Star section.

Does anyone have experience of this or getting to use PC UC aisle without any ‘history’?

If i remeber correctly we had UC from our very forst time. This was USA 3 years ago or so.

First time new account rentals regardless of status are often go to counter to have documentation checked. You might have this but you’ll still have PC so can choose from that lot if you don’t like the car you are allocated. That’s the worse case scenario – I think you’ll just be directed to the UC lot. PS no guarantee that you’ll get the car type there that you want but certainly better than the UK / Europe !
