Hi all,
I booked a Honors Discount (refundable) rate for an upcoming stay in September.
As this is now confirmed, I was thinking of rebooking it as a prepaid non-refundable rate and taking advantage of the £50 cash back offer which is still saved to my wife’s supplementary card (as I believe we have to do this by 1st July).
Our spend for rooms alone will be over £200 and that particular hotel is on the list of Hilton hotels taking part in this offer.
So would we still receive the cash back doing it this way or does the actual stay have to be completed by 1st July?
Amex works on the date of payment.
You could always phone the hotel and make a prepayment of the amount needed without changing your booking.
Thanks.
As the hotel booking is in my name, presumably my diamond perks etc. won’t be affected if the payment card is in my wife’s name?
Amex doesn’t do name verification – you can put your name down as ‘cardholder name’ if you want. Makes no cashback difference regardless though.
