Forums Hotel loyalty schemes Hilton Honors Hilton Paddington or Metropole?

These two are the closest for where I need to be the day after and also most convenient from/to LHR.

Which one would you recommend please?
For only 1 night, free-breakfast with Gold. Mid-afternoon meeting so looking for late check-out. Just activated the 3x points offer and looking to use either £50 credit back or 9000MR.

Ps. Paddington is a tad cheaper for the date I’m looking at (mid next week).

Not been to the Paddington one, but was at the Metropole last weekend. It is right next to Edgeware tube, and about 7 min walk along straight road to Paddington station, which we did with trolleys without issue.
Despite being a huge hotel, it never felt over busy. The breakfast was standard Hilton fare. If you’re there for your birthday, worth mentioning in the booking notes – room was all prepared with balloons, confetti, plate of fruit (with some lovely dates) and a mini chocolate cake.

I’ve stayed at both and prefer the Paddington one – it’s got more character and I prefer the location.

Only been at Metropole, it was packed when I was there and a huge queue for breakfast. Bacon abd sausage undercooked, probably because of rush to get it out given how busy it was. Never went back despite being quite a useful location. I’d stay at a better hotel with good transport link to where you need to be, or just get uber.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Considering I will get quite a late flight arriving LHR 10pm, I might just stay at HIG T2/T3 or Hilton T4 and make my way into London leisurely the next day.

I had a GREAT stay at Hilton T4 last month.
Paddington “fine”, Metropole was grim in our case, but several years ago now.

Have a look at day rooms as Hilton offer cheap ones, especially at LHR.

Neither. There’s a far nicer “Doubletree Hyde Park” at the top of Queensway opposite Hyde Park that had a far nicer reputation both before and after flagging to Hilton and it’s only a short walk from grotty Paddington.

I’ve booked a night at the West End DT in January as we’ve got theatre tickets and wanted to use the Amex offer – please don’t tell me it’s awful!

It’s not the best Hilton near the theatres, but that’s reflected in the price compared to closer ones.

It’s still a decent enough hotel in a good area.

Have the option of the following for one night stay on business, coming into Paddington and going down to victoria, am fine with the Metropole, but not tried the others. Which one would you choose/avoid?
    Hilton Paddington
    Hilton Hyde park
    London Metropole
    DT marble arch
    DT Hyde park

@elguiri – looks like you are hooked on Hilton, but there is the brand new Premier Inn on Eastbourne Terrace, the road that runs alongside the station on the Elizabeth Line side.

Doesn’t have to be Hilton, just the ones available on work booking site.
There is also the hotel indigo at Paddington and premier inn Paddington on north wharf road that are available for my dates.
Important for me is aircon that works and gym, and ideally near to Paddington to drop bags before heading off to victoria.

Premier Inn have this nack of making brand new hotels look 5 years old. It’s amazing.

I’d probably just stick with the Metropole if it’s served you well before. Don’t think any of the others are going to offer a much better experience.

Opening August 5. Just in case anyone needs to know.

I like the Hilton Paddington. You can’t get more convenient for the station as there is a back door into the station (comes out by Starbucks on the mezzanine level above the concourse). It also has a bit more character than the metropole.
