Forums Hotel loyalty schemes Hilton Honors Hilton points for surveys – thoughts ?

  • 90 posts

I had an email offering 1250 bonus points if I signed up to the Hilton linked guest surveys. So I started the process, registered, and began to update my profile. Then stopped when the questions started to ask for more personal things that I’d like to give them, realising that the main focus for these companies is probably to harvest data to sell on, ultimately resulting in a load more spam email, and phone calls.

So I unsubscribed and closed my account without taking any survey. Just wondered about other people’s thoughts on these sites, to earn small numbers of additional points. I’ve decided it’s not worth the time and hassle.

If they want thoughtful, well-considered answers to their survey questions from senior managers who control £10m of business spend, they need to pay more than £3 per hour.

Are you sure it is the guest surveys?
It is one of those online survey companies that give out few miles or points for each surveys completed. Theirs is usually a signup bonus.

    Avios had that, too.

It’s just eRewards on a sole Hilton basis. Same as how Avios for Thoughts is solely for Avios, or Club Opinions for ALL points.

I still have a very old e-Rewards a/c that came via an invite from Hilton.
I have a choice of Hilton points, Avios from BA + IB, Virgin, United, AA, KLM + Etihad, plus gift cards from a number of places Amazon, Lakeland, M+S, sainsbury’s…

have not used it much recently, so they have started sending me incentives to do more surveys – 1000 points for completing two surveys was the last one.

Worst bit is the time it takes them to send points to Hilton once you earn them around a month, compared with my separate Accor e-Rewards a/c where it takes less than 24 hours.

I’m up to £40 worth of points in one week of surveys. Definitely worth it.

This is on https://www.guestopinionrewards.co.uk/ which is the one Hilton invited me to join. Now up to £60 worth of points. I get emailed a reminder every evening at 10pm. Usually about 3 surveys a day, up to 250 points each.

I signed up for Hilton Guest Opinions in June. Behind the artwork, it’s e-rewards, but:

You get only 10 points for not being eligible for a survey, compared with 25 on (non-Hilton) e-rewards.
Guest Opinion rewards credit straight to Hilton, around the end of the month. E-rewards have to be converted.
Best redemption is 8000 e-rewards, which convert to 7000 Hilton Honors, so a survey not done turns into 22? Honors.
It takes me a couple of months to get the 8000.
Seems to me Guest Opinion survey rewards are offering about 50 points less than the e-rewards equivalent per survey,
for example 250 rather than 300.
Notice the reward for a survey for which you don’t qualify is now often showing as 0, both on Guest and on e.
e-reward rates haven’t changed for years, so a Hampton night that used to be easily covered by 2 months’ surveys now takes 6.
They must be aware of the loss of attraction, and have thrown in a few bonuses recently. Now there’s Guest Opinions.
