Forums Hotel loyalty schemes Hilton Honors Hilton spa hotel not so far from London

I’m trying to organise a trip to a Hilton group spa hotel. We will go as three generations and wouldn’t want to drive more than 3 hours from London ideally.

    Any suggestions?

You might be able to get to Chester in 3 hours depending on which bit of London you’re coming from. Very nice spa facilities and Chester is a very pleasant city for a mini break.

Thank you @NorthernLass I’ll look into it.

UK provincial Hiltons are a motley crew. The not-absolutely-terrible ones (and this really is a low bar) with some spa facilities within 3 hrs of London I can think of off the top of my head:

    St George’s Park, Burton
    Forest Pines
    Cadbury House, Somerset
    The Ageas Bowl, Southampton
    Doubletree Harrogate

There’s no standout candidate there to me so depends what you fancy.

Syon Park seems the obvious choice although I think now even hotel guests have to pay for the spa. This was built as a Waldorf Astoria.

St George’s Park is also good because it was built for the use of the England football team.

Yes it’s £20 each at Syon Park (though you may get it included if you’re booking treatments, which is usually the case). We were booked there but have now decided to stay at the cheaper (and free pool etc) Marriott at Twickenham down the road!

But you also have to pay at Harrogate and Chester, unless you have treatments booked, I think it’s par for the course, post-pandemic.

We enjoyed the Ageas Bowl when we staged. If you look for spa packages on the Spa website it then links through to the Hilton site and unlocked Better deals. We got a pretty good DBB and treatments deal.

This used to be an excellent hotel for Diamonds, free parking, free spa access, great lounge, top quality breakfast.

Post-covid – parking payable, £65(!!) fee to enter spa, lounge removed, breakfast downgraded.

The above are from second hand reports as after hearing of the changes, I decided I would no longer stay here out of principle.

Sounds like they just want people to take up these package deals.

I’d like to revive this thread as I was wondering if there is any recent experience?

Hilton Syon Park wanted to charge me £25 per 2 hour spa visit on a 2 night stay.

I won’t be going there again, which is a shame.

I’d recommend using a different chain, for spa hotels.

The tip on spas everywhere seems to be book your treatments as soon as you book the hotel if you can, or as soon as they’ll let you.

Spa facilities and pools and gyms at many hotels do often take other memberships and especially at weekends regardless of being a hotel guest you may find there’s no space left.

So booking at least one treatment ahead may achieve both aims – actually ensuring availability and often avoiding fees or non-access to other parts of the spa/pool/gym areas.

St George’s Park is great for Diamonds – loads of upgrade potential, decent exec lounge, strong breakfast. Has an almost resort feel to the place such is its scale.

I’ve never had a spa treatment there, not really my bag, but from what I hear it’s great.
