Hello!
I am flying into Chennai from Colombo next month. I’ll be arriving at 6.30pm and departing for LHR at 5.30am the following morning. I’m thinking of booking a reasonably priced hotel so we can get a few hours sleep before the flight but Chennai doesn’t seem to have any that are walkable.
Can anyone recommend one nearby, or with a 24/7 shuttle service?

My husband says extra points if there’s any with a restaurant where he can get a decent curry for dinner!
Not many options as the airport is close to the city centre. Also, Chennai is not a place you can walk, even when sun’s not out, you’ll be drenched in sweat within a few mins in 40 degrees summer.
There’s a Trident from the well regarded Oberoi group and a Radisson Blu, both within a 5 min taxi ride.
As to a curry there, you can stick to the hotel restaurants, but make sure you ask for one with low spice unless you are adventurous!

In theory yes for taxis but with the early start I think this is one of those occasions I’d arrange transfers through the hotel and accept it will cost more.
A bit risky to rely on taxis at that time, plus they are dirty. As strickers says, hotel will charge double, but best to arrange through them.
