I’ve just got the message that my HOtels.com account has transferred to the eviscerated OneKey programme but the nearly #300 quid’s worth of credits has not been transferred across. Anyone else have the same problem? Should I just wait and see?

It’s for hotel.com US accounts, not for UK accounts yet. Do you maybe have both?

Mine also cut over to “One Key”. My Gold status has gone (now blue) and none of the rewards I’ve earned have cut across (I have $0 One Key cash). I can no longer access my hotels.com account and the rewards I’ve collected..

Are you using uk.hotels.com or hotels.com?
It’s showing everything for me on the UK site.

Also have you created/merged accounts into OneKey account when asked to do so earlier this year?

A few people with UK accounts (ie UK address) seem to have had this happen. They told me at the HfP party that UK members wouldn’t move until 2024.

Just checked my account and see a notice

Hotels.com® Rewards will transition to One Key™ beginning on July 6, 2023: Throughout July, members will start earning at the One Key rate and unlock new and exciting benefits across Hotels.com, Expedia and Vrbo. Learn more about One Key here

Made a booking yesterday (7th July) for next week and the confirmation shows 1 reward night to be earned as expected. “beginning on July 6” seems rather vague, but gives them freedom. I’ve had no email notification of a change yet. Oddly a cashback site has recently upped its rates for hotels.com to 10% till end of August – problem being they are registering and paying 20%! I was planning to book a few more nights in the hope of the 20% + 10% cashback but with the “evolution” of the program I’ll be looking elsewhere…

They might have had accounts with UK address on the US website. I can only log into my account via uk.hotels.com not the US one or any other country for that matter.

I confirm this is via uk.hotels.com. I don’t recall doing anything earlier this year to merge my accounts. I wonder if I had an old US Expedia account for some reason which has merged badly with my UK Hotels.com and all gone a big pear-shaped.. struggling to find a human to talk to about it!

And as of today that notice has now disappeared?! This is an account based in Sweden.

Just got the email from hotels.com – I can see my old status, reward nights & stamps at uk.hotels.com but blue status and no one key cash at http://www.hotels.com. What a mess!

I have had exactly the same thing happen to me – demoted to Blue status and $0 One Key Cash (that’s over 3700/2 free reward nights gone!!). I have checked and it is uk.hotels.com and not the US version.

This link seems to get me to a pre One Key version of the site:

Thank you Mouse it worked and enabled me to take full screen shots of my reward nights and how they were made up.

Email today from them saying “welcome to one key” and “blue members save even more”

When I logged in to my .co.cut account my correct status is displayed (not blue!) and the small amount of reward points I had are still there.

I had an expedia.com account (using same email) as my .co.Uk so that looks why they’ve moved me over now.

I’ve had the same emails telling me I’ve moved across, but have no activity in the account when I log in (after multiple attempts to log in with a poorly functioning website!). Logging out and then back in to the UK hotels.com site as above gets me back to the reward nights I’ve got. I’ve just had a look at the FAQ though and it looks like non-US members will stay in the existing scheme indefinitely:

“For Hotels.com Rewards accounts that were created on sites outside the US and have confirmed Hotels.com stamps and/or reward nights from bookings made on non-US sites you will not transition to One Key. Your Hotels.com Rewards nights and stamps will remain in your non-US Hotels.com Rewards account. If you do log in or book on the US site in the future you will be creating a new One Key rewards account.”

Will need to be careful to check what rewards are on offer, and which site we’re logged in to. Assuming that future bookings will all be at the Onekey 2% rate I’m not sure I’ll be using Hotels.com again though

Thank you- yes – the issue was that I seem to have a US account as well as UK account. Using uk.hotels.com found all my bookings and reward nights.

Sounds like the UK expedia or hotels.com people were not kept up to date. Indeed UK accounts held have been moved to the new eviscerated Wone Key scheme this month.

My hotels.com and Expedia accounts have never had anything to do with the US, but have received emails this week saying they’ve been migrated.

Both had low/no activity so it didn’t cost much to tell them to delete both accounts and all my data.

I’m not going to sit around and be transferred to an eviscerated scheme without at least wondering if I should bail out. However as soon as the accounts were transferred by fait accompli against what expedia / hotels.com had said about not moving UK accounts before the end of the year, this is bad faith so I closed the accounts

So what happens to the existing credit? I am 9/10 of the way to a reward night worth 170 quid and August holidays will see another 11 nights I expected would bring me to 2 reward nights totalling 500 quid. I don’t see any change get and no email, but 500 quid down the swanny hurts.
