Houston hotel recommendations

Hi All,

Wondered if anyone has any good advice on places to stay in Houston for two nights in late September? Me and a friend are leaning towards staying in the downtown area for convenience. Four Seasons is quite a bit out of our budget but looking at reasonable 4 stars and wondered if anyone has any good hotel recommendations?
Will be spending most of our main day at the Space Centre but like to be able to go out to dinner and a bar in the evening? Do hotels offer any transfers to the Space Centre or is taking a taxi best?

I like the Houstonian. It’s quite Texan and is set in nice grounds. The swimming pools and gym are ginormous.
