How best to use Avios + Upgrade voucher or 7k points?

We’ve not used AVIOS before but we have a honeymoon to book, and in anticipation got the barclaycard and Amex Gold card a year ago in prep for this.

So…

We will at least have around 200k points at the time of booking and we also have a cabin upgrade voucher from BC.

We will pull all the points into BA

We want to fly to Japan from the UK (ideally London).

We want to upgrade either one, or both ways for both of us.

What would be the best way to use these points/voucher to achieve the best deal in the highest cabin?

When’s the wedding? You really need to read all the articles and threads on here about avios and the Barclays voucher, especially as you’re after probably the most difficult redemption.

Also the “booking the return with the 241”, while ostensibly about the BA companion voucher, contains invaluable information about how to get these seats as soon as they’re released.

You’ll need to book as soon as they’re released at T-355 for the best chance, and as you can only use the Barclays voucher on BA, LHR is going to be your departure airport.
