Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club How long do E-tickets take to arrive via email

  • 25 posts

So after 40 mins of not being able to login to either the BA App or BA app early this morning I got my outbound reward flights for next year (T-355) booked up.

However the booking seemed to fail at last hurdle but I have been given a booking reference in the App and I am able to update passenger details, and they have charged my credit card but the charge is showing as pending. Also the rewatd seats have gone from the flight.

BA have not though taken any Avios or sent me and E-Ticket email yet. Pretty sure this has happened before in previous reward flight bookings, but just wondered if anyone knew how long they take to debit my Avios and send me the email

Hopefully, if you have a PNR and you can see the flights in the app, you will be OK. It’s normal for the credit card charge to show as pending for 2-3 days. As there has been some confusion, when you get the e-ticket email from BA look in the app to make sure there is a ticket number against each segment for each person. As per some comments in yesterday’s chat, although BA confirmation emails say “e-ticket” in the subject line, they actually aren’t e-tickets at all – some airlines do send copies of e-tickets (that are the vital bit that is actually valid for transport) but BA doesn’t which is why you need to check – you will have seen problems people then encounter at OLCI or actual check-in.

No ticket numbers yet in the app but since the flight is 355 days away I will chase up next week when back from Turkiye if no email by then.

After a week no tickets, no Avios debit and no CC debit. Had to call BA up to get tickted and all sorted. but shows that if you have a booking reference your reward seat booking is safe
