So I’m March our Belfast to Heathrow flight was delayed and we missed our Cape Town flight as a result. We got put on same flight the following day, arriving in Cape Town 24 hours later than scheduled. Thanks to this forum I am aware of EU261 rights and logged a claim around 24th March. I received an email to confirm that this was received and weekly update to advise that complaint in system and working on it. Over last 5 weeks I’ve heard nothing and am wondering is this normal?
On an aside note my neighbours were delayed in Palma (5hrs) and I told them about EU261. They applied to EasyJet and got £700 in their bank account within 4 weeks.
A post on FT suggested 9 to 10 weeks. Maybe the U-turn by BA on many of these claims will see them throw some more resources at it, although questionable if they have any resources to throw anywhere.
I had a cancellation on a Prague to Heathrow flight on the 3rd April. I also got the weekly emails asking that I be patient and then I got an email on the 12th May saying that my claim was approved and all expenses and compensation would be paid out with 2 weeks.
