How long to credit Avios on cancelled reward flight

I made a booking this morning but am now looking to cancel and rebook (want to downgrade cabin on the return leg). Just wondering if anyone has done this recently to see how long will it take for Avios to be credited back to me?

I had to call up recently after 2 and a half weeks waiting post an online cancellation.

I’d received the cash refund in a few days but no sign of the Avios.

After speaking to BA the Avios were in my account within 30 mins.

Usually the avios are refunded immediately, but same as @Scott, the last time I cancelled, the avios hadn’t appeared in over a week, so I called, and then they were back within 5 mins (had to log out and back in).

Remember, if you cancel within 24 hours, you should get all your money back, too.
