Apologies for what is probably a stupid question, but I cannot seem to find the guidance on Barclays site for the process to upgrade from the regular Avios card tot the Avios plus. I originally got the Avios card to use in places that didn’t accept Amex but now Amex have raised the voucher requirements by 50% mid term that card is useless to me so I want to upgrade the Barclaycard one and just focus on that, but I can’t find any guidance for it.
Thank you.
If you are eligible, it will be in the offers section on your account, under “what cards can I change to”, or something similar. To date Barclays don’t seem to be able to upgrade or downgrade anyone unless they have the offer.
Worth adding that it is only available via the app. Call centre can’t do it (which is what NorthernLass was referring to) and not via the website.
‘Switch to another card’ is what you are looking for, either via the Barclaycard button on the app homepage, or maybe by selecting the card settings and options from there.

It’s not that Barclays isn’t able to upgrade or downgrade, it’s that they only wish it to be done via the app and the system decides on eligibility.
