Hi

I am planning to apply for a HSBC Premier World Elite credit card and qualify for the welcome bonus, but I am not sure if at the time of renewal (year 2) I can negotiate some extra HSBC reward points with them? similar to Amex.

Anybody managed to achieve a decent deal?

Do you find value in £290 per annum fees from Year 2 onwards? I already have Amex Platinum, so another PP would not be of much use to me.

@MoneyNeverSleeps – no, HSBC doesn’t offer any retention bonuses; only Amex offers these. Whether there is value in Y2 onwards depends on your particular spend patterns and how you want to use the points. The HSBC version of the PP offers more options than the Amex Plat one which restricts most restaurant options in lieu of lounges.
