I just got off the phone with BA (silver line) there is an issue with my voucher I won’t go into here – the agent blind sided me by telling me the vouchers won’t expire as BA is refunding them all in batches through 2022
All I can see online is this link I guess this is legit right?

I’m not sure if mine is a future travel one or whatever it starts 125- and they are an absolute pain to use online so I’m glad to be shot of it
I believe only Avios booking FTVs. I’ve had all of mine refunded now.

there’s only cash in the voucher and he was pretty adamant on the phone they will all be refunded
All vouchers start 125-
If your booking was a redemption it is an FTV and will be auto refunded. FTVs could only be used by calling.
If your booking was a paid flight it is an e-voucher, it will not be refunded and you must spend the credit on flights that fly by 30 Sep 2023. E-vouchers can be spent online and combined/split as required.
You can’t and could never have mixed FTVs with e-vouchers (but BA was calling everything FTVs initially).
You could only have money in an FTV if you reused all the avios but the original taxes and charges were higher than the new redemption, this should be refunded and they should actually be able to process the refund immediately (may still take a month or more after that).

Thanks it’s all super confusing, let me explain and maybe you can help….this voucher was issued to me about two months ago, through booking flights in the past year or so I’ve been through around 5-6 voucher codes from the original which was a paid flight which BA cancelled a couple years back, it had around £6000 in value in the first version, it’s now less than £3000
Does that make it an e-voucher? And if so why would the agent on the phone then inform me it would be refunded?
Have all FTVs been refunded yet?
I had one issued last month. It was for a trip (paid in cash) where we cancelled the return sector after taking the outbound, hence it being issued as an FTV rather than an eVoucher.
It’s pretty useless as I have no idea how much value is tied up in it and it can only be used by calling, which as we know isn’t easy currently.
What timescale are we looking at?
The FAQ listed on that webpage basically say they are refunding in date order of oldest first.
Vouchers with avios in them were refunded separately as they caused the most work for the call centre to use. That process seems to have been completed or almost so. Likely helped by them auto refunding more recently cancelled flights.
Evouchers starting 125-4 are the easiest to use as these can be used online when booking flight only.
IIRC the only FTVs still extant are from BA Holidays (and those are being refunded oldest first) and more complicated ones which in include those with partially cancelled trips in them and the latter type will take longer to process because they require detailed investigation of the individual fare elements and a decision made on which are refundable and which aren’t. It’s not a simple 50% calculation.
It’s not difficult to get through to BA on the phone – i’ve had to call them five times in the last few weeks (trying to use an FTV) but via the Bronze line I’ve got through both last Saturday afternoon about 4pm and yesterday morning just after 8am within a matter of 5 mins or less.
Note this was for a part flown FTV with an AMEX 241 voucher attached. It’s been a massive pain to sort, but there was no suggestion they could convert it back into native miles. I was happy to forego the unused half of the 241.

I have one from last December that hasn’t been refunded. Used some of it in January, but there is still about £3k sitting in the voucher.
I was recently refunded a FTV (cash booking of around £800 + 66k avios upgrade from WTP to CW) from January 2021. The avios were refunded about a month after the cash, and had to chase them for it.
I have an evoucher for june 2021 flight, not seen any refund

So there will be a years worth of vouchers to process before they get to yours.
Patience is a virtue.
