Iberia 24 hour bag drop Madrid?

Does anyone have any experience of dropping bags at Madrid up to 24 hours before a long haul flight with Iberia?

I have an LHR-MAD-MEX trip with the first leg the day before the second and ideally would like to dump the checked bags early.

There is very little info online about this, bar a cursory mention on Iberia’s website which suggests it’s a thing.

Has anyone done it?

Yes, no problem. Any time really. The airport is open 24/7. I even managed to do it half past midnight once when all check-in agents were almost asleep at their desks.

Can I ask if this can be used when flying different airlines?

For instance MAD to LHR with IB followed to LHR to somewhere else with another OW airlines (BA/CX/JL/…)

Planning on doing this in a few days. I’ll spending the night in Madrid and not having to take the large suitcase with me is a bonus!
