I noticed while answering on another thread that IHG seems to have discounted a lot of points rates for next week (Mon – Fri, anyway, not checked the weekends). Kimpton Charlotte Square and The George are both around 30k points per night, and this seems to be replicated in other cities. Given the current insane “dynamic pricing” rates offered by IHG, anyone who can get away at short notice could get a real points bargain!
I think they sent out an email last week saying a 20% discount on redemptions until 13th March (or around that date).
Book by 8h Feb and stay up to 13th March.
People getting various discounts based on status and if you have the IHG credit card.

A related query. Do hotels (more specifically the IC O2) still offer cash upgrades to larger rooms on reward bookings? A king superior is 28k points for the date I am looking at but I would like a king deluxe suite which could accommodate the kids as well. Cash price for the suite is £261.
I can’t imagine they wouldn’t offer a cash upgrade, especially if you negotiated in advance. Have you got any IHG status? They are usually pretty good with upgrades anyway if you email them before your stay.
