why has it been difficult to cancel the BAE avios card ? is there no CS help ? I have to cancel mine by 6th December to avoid the chargeable fees

It’s never difficult to cancel a card as long as you have no outstanding balance. Cut it in half across the chip, post it to the address on the back with a covering letter saying that you wish to close the account.

Or if you want it cancelled instantly, just go on chat in your account and tell them! You can cancel even if you have an outstanding balance, you’ll continue to be billed as normal until it’s cleared.
