Forums Frequent flyer programs The British Airways Club Is compensation due if BA reschedule a flight by 5 hours?

It’s an interesting discussion (and thanks to @baec_newbie). I would argue this is a cancellation under UK261. After all, the flight number means nothing (they use the same number every day!!). The concept that the flight times don’t form part of the contract is ludicrous.

Either a right to compensation under UK261 or the right to an alternate routing that reflects the original booking. If it were me I’d ask again, and then file a MCOL case online. I really like BA, but this is not playing fair.

The CRA is definitely applicable, and should be a slam-dunk. BA won’t contest it, because whilst it doesn’t set a precedent it does demonstrate that such cases can be (hopefully) won. And that’s a bad precedent!

@lhar BA offers to reroute for a schedule change of over two hours which goes beyond any statutory requirement and is a more generous policy than applied by other airlines. What exactly are you suggesting the OP should plead at MCOL? Also, why have you suggested the OP should “file a MCOL case online” rather than going to CEDR?
