my latest from Amex today is
” pro rata refunds will continue till there is a further announcement”
Useful thread. Agree the FCA would likely take dim view of the smoke and mirrors approach to cancellation t&cs 😊
Does anyone have a link that confirms the 29th Feb cut off from Amex? Have searched but can’t find it apologies if I’ve missed something.
No link, and it’s NOT the cut-off. It’s just the last day that Amex guarantees to allow pro-rata refunds. There is a 99% chance you can still get one on 1st March I reckon.
just got this on chat “Just to let you know, there is no yet official confirmation that the pro-rata refund will not be provided. The cardmembers will get a confirmation that the service has been stopped.”

Well, that sounds quite confused! Customers have already received a formal confirmation that pro-rata refunds would be stopped with effect from last October so now we are in the twilight zone with this highly unofficial extension, I doubt they are going to send confirmation of anything.
