Maximise your Avios, air miles and hotel points
Good Morning,
Next Thursday Flying in the Room to Tokyo Haneda, staying at the Conrad Tokyo Shinbashi.
Does anyone have any tips on what to do, the hotel and also how to get to the hotel from the airport, its all a bit daunting.
We are there only overnight before we fly to Sydney the following morning. I really wanted to see the Shibuya Crossing.
Thanks for any insight
You won’t have time for anything. ANA flight arrives around 6pm and by the time you get to Conrad it will probably be 8pm. You can take Keikyū line which is about 40 min or pre-book a taxi which will be about 20-25 min but can be longer depending on the traffic
It’s about half an hour from Conrad to the other side of Tokyo and Shibuya. Shibuya Sky is open till 10:30 (last entry an hour earlier). There is a lot of movement all night and some shops/restaurants are very much open till 2-3am.
To be honest, I’d concentrate on Ginza to which you can walk and have drinks/dinner at Conrad which has great views over Tokyo Bay. Depending on when your flight is in the morning you may want to scroll in the Hamarikyu Gardens.
What does “Flying in the Room” mean?
ANA Business Class, for me the best business class seat out there, better than QSuite by miles.

Thanks for explaining. My wife and I are slumming it in Club Suites to Tokyo next week. (At least the BA flights get in earlier). We have a day and a half before flying on to Sydney.
Thanks for the great advice Meta.
Can you use contactless cards on the Keikyu Line I will do as you suggest and concentrate on Ginza. Our flight is in the morning to Sydney.
Thankyou
If you want contactless Suica or Pasmo (IC) card you’ll need an Iphone (not sure it works with Android). This can be topped up with any card. You can’t just tap your UK card.
All Nippon Airways are nearly always in the top 5 airlines that they’ve got to fight countless other airlines for their space in the rankings.
One might assume that Alex Cruz never wants any airline (that has the misfortune of him managing) too be anywhere near that list in the first place
