Japan Airlines Reward Flights

Hi all, can I only book Avios flights with JAL if they start in London? Online it says as they’re part of Oneworld you can use Avios but on the BA website you can only originate in London or Japan. I’m hoping to get a reward flight from SFO to Japan. Any ideas?

I have booked JAL flights using Avios from places other than London and Japan (e.g., Shanghai and Seoul) and a quick search of flights from SFO for a random date next April brings up several direct JAL options for me.

Yes, the Book Flights with Avios section (i.e., the actual reward flight booking bit on BA’s site).

don’t forget to check via Qatar, both online and via the call centre. pricing can vary…
