Hi all,
I will be travelling to Japan and Thailand next year for 6 night and 7 nights respectively. I will be arriving and departing from tokyo and Bangkok. Any suggestions on other areas to visit with such a short time frame?
Any tips would be much appreciated
Plenty of info here if you type into your search engine japan + headforpoints.com
You also haven’t given enough details when, first-time visitor, etc. 6 nights for Japan is short in any case. You’ll need at least five full days in Tokyo and barely scratch the surface.
Going end of october 2024, first-time visitor. i will use the search engine as well thanks! @meta
I suggest concentrating on Tokyo, if you must go out to Nikko/Hakone/Kawaguchiko/Kawagoe. Nikko for nature/waterfalls,etc. Hakone for onsen (although you want to stay an overnight there. Kawaguchiko for those iconic Mt Fuji view (it might be cloudy in October though) and Kawagoe for traditional streets/food.
Agreed with @meta here. With 6 nights I suggested to focus on Tokyo and above mentioned. Don’t even try to distract by Kyoto etc. We spent 2 weeks during our first visit and that was not enough. We are heading back next month for Tokyo (5 nights) and Kiso valley (4 nights). You never visit Japan for just once! 😉 Enjoy planning!
