Forums Frequent flyer programs British Airways Club Joining two separate one-way redemptions to release a 2-4-1 voucher

  • 10 posts

    Hi,
I have booked LHR-JNB, and JNB-LHR as two separate one-way redemptions, each using a separate 2-4-1 voucher. I did this as I needed to book the inbound at exactly 00.00 when it opened for sale (all seats were gone with 2 minutes, so it really was the only way).

I would now like to find out if I can merge them into one booking and release the 2-4-1 used on the second booking. Any idea if this is something the BA agents would be able to do if I call up?
    Thanks

What you should have done is book the inbound leg at the full avios cost (if you had enough avios), then when you call BA they will refund half of them (they won’t adjust the cash element but I don’t think this is an issue on your route). They won’t merge the bookings either but it’s not a huge deal to be left with 2 separate ones. I’m guessing they will say that to release the 2nd 241 you would need to cancel and rebook, hoping that the seats will be released back into the inventory (no guarantee of this), but you may have a small chance that you’ll get a sympathetic CSA who will do it the way you’re asking about. The only way to find out is to call though!

Totally agree with the above, for what it’s worth.
